"Crystal Ball Supermarché"

„The miracle of shopping is possible every day!“ – Lydia Karstadt.

Another supermarket! Every street corner needs a supermarket. In Berlin, the newest shopping mall at the Eastside Gallery has just opened. The 69th shopping center in Berlin alone. After seeing the processed remnants of the Berlin Wall you might want a new sweater in the dust-free temple.

In our carefree sphere, a world of retrograde amnesia, everything seems always available and for sale. This world knows no problems or even shortages. Here you need no gardens, no talent or knowledge, because it mutates to a personal drone Schlaraffia. In this world, there is no climate change, no diversity, no species extinction, no otherness. Everyone wants the same. A privileged world of destructive capitalism that ends with us, because it is no longer about leaving something good. To what extent can we still move out of this trauma? Is there a possibility of change? Or is this just a pronounced cultural pessimism?
Until January, Crystal Ball Supermarché presents a colorful growing selection of artistic „products“ by artists, which all show diverse critical statements. As an example, the artist Evita Emersleben represents the butchery. With her performative actions from 2017, „Cut or in a Piece“, she shows consummate courtesy. The buyer is asked here before buying, if he wants to have the work whole or cut in pieces.

Like last year, the wonderful, delicious SUPEROLIVE is included! With its ever-growing olive oil community, which sees the obvious connection between art and life, culture and nutrition as avant-garde. In the Supermarché there are many other unique pieces and works of art that carry a critical, perspective, self-confident view and open the performative Winter Salon 2018

Crystal Ball Supermarché shows art for a small price.
Opening on Saturday, December 1st at 7 pm with a performance by Evita Emersleben.
