Thomas Behling: "Vier romantisierende Betrachtungen zum Ende der Welt" – "Four romanticized contemplations on the end of the world", 2024, 113 x 72 x 49 cm
"¡¿Unsere Welt ist schön?!" – "¡¿Our world is beautiful?!"
Every day the sun rises, every day can bring us wonderful experiences: in nature as the seasons and times of day change, when travelling, in a blooming garden, with family and friends, in encounters with people, plants and animals, with art, music and literature. Many moments are magical, for example when light shines through an interior.
Injustice, violence and destruction happen every day and are also part of our present - often to an extent that we can hardly bear.
This exhibition deals intensively with the here and now, with our present and also with where we are going now, because we don't want to know that what we are doing now is true.
