Countless glowing glass fibres protrude from the globe like tiny needles, causing small points of light to ‘float’ in front of the image.
The image object shows the earth what it might look like when the sea level rises by 60 meters. If both poles completely melt, this would mean an increase of 67 meters.
Normally, the Earth is bathed in sunlight, so that one half is brightly lit by daylight whilst the other is shrouded in the darkness of night. In this image, however, the Earth is bathed in an unnatural twilight.
