"Als Ultima Ratio mit allen Mitteln" – "As a last resort, by any means necessary"

On the oval, curved plaque, the words are written in iridescent red and green lettering: “Surely one must still be allowed to say that the Basic Law permits resistance against anyone who seeks to destroy the constitutional order!” – thereby alluding
to the fourth paragraph of Article 20 of the German Basic Law: “All Germans have the right to resist anyone who attempts to abolish this (constitutional) order, if no other remedy is possible.” – and legal scholars certainly interpret this to mean that, as a last resort, this includes all means.
Flags are stuck to the left and right of the plaque: the Antifascist Action flag, the red-and-black flag, the LGBTQ Pride flag and the golden flag. Beneath the plaque, two ‘pistols’ cross; they are two glue gun cartridges. The oval disc is encircled by a cord, which is that of a noose hanging from a small gallows at the top – for that is the crux of the fourth paragraph: the state will never relinquish its monopoly on the use of force. Instead, those who denounce its criminality are increasingly criminalised, and even the most harmless means of protest are distorted in perception into violence.
